ALIEF PARK

Room for a whole neighborhood to be itself.

Alief Park brings recreation, nature, and community life together. Shaped by extensive community engagement, the renewed park and neighborhood center connect a library, health services, and recreation facilities with outdoor spaces for one of Houston’s most diverse communities.

SWA Group designed the landscape, with building design by EYP. At SWA, Rachel served as Project Manager, Designer, and Construction Administration Lead, carrying the landscape through technical coordination and field decisions.

Sports courts and fields sit alongside nature trails and gardens. A skate park and Mount Alief, a custom climbing wall, bring energy and challenge. Picnic areas, an event lawn, and a food truck area supporting weekend markets offer plenty of reasons to settle in.

Heritage live oaks anchor the landscape in the neighborhood’s history. Around them, active recreation and quieter spaces make room for different ages, interests, and speeds, with choices about how to spend an afternoon and opportunities to try something new.
