A little more wild in the workday.
Across from Houston’s Discovery Green, Norton Rose Fulbright Tower carries the park’s energy into a 28-story, 375,000-square-foot workplace. Developed and built by Skanska, with architecture by BIG and landscape architecture by SWA Group, it connects the sidewalk to a series of gardens above the city.
At SWA, Rachel served as Project Manager and Design Lead from schematic design through construction administration. Pedestrian spaces and tree canopies connect the tower to the public realm, while terraces offer distinct planted environments: a shaded woodland garden, a pollinator garden, and an arid garden and pocket prairie at the top.
Texture, seasonal change, and places to gather make each terrace an invitation to step outside. Together, the gardens offer different encounters with planting, architecture, and the skyline, making the landscape part of the workday rather than simply a view from the office.
